28TH STREET
(Three story house with a core meant for sharing). The core of the proposal focuses on the second level, where through the demolition of the central part of the floor plan and the complete restructuring of the kitchen, a continuous space conducive to a lively social life for a young couple is sought. The original apartment layout featured two double-height spaces, one above the living room and a smaller one above the kitchen. Both supported this idea of spatial continuity, connecting not only physically but also visually with the mezzanine of the third level and its terrace. This was a key element in projecting the remodeling as the aim was not only to preserve this characteristic but also to enhance it.
The kitchen, previously divided into two parts, is now integrated into a continuous whole, where a cooking and preparation island extends towards the daily dining table. Working with a two-tone cabinet with distinct straight lines maintains the modern spirit of the house but from a much more contemporary perspective. Wood, present throughout the project, is the material element that provides conceptual continuity to the proposal, integrating all the spaces.
